Faith Academy History

Faith Academy was founded in 1987 by Jacquelyn Griggs to serve high school students. In her extensive years of experience as an educator, Mrs. Griggs recognized the need for education opportunities outside of the traditional school setting. Her desire is for students to not only succeed academically but also spiritually.

The mission continues, as Mrs. Griggs desired in 1987, to guide students to a high school diploma — and on into post-secondary education — through quality, non-traditional instruction.

  • Is Faith Academy accredited?
    Yes. Faith Academy is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC).
  • Are Faith Academy graduates eligible for the HOPE scholarship?
    Yes. All Faith Academy graduates are eligible for the HOPE Scholarship if they meet the requirements set forth by HOPE.
  • How does the program work?
    A student at Faith Academy will receive weekly assignments. The student will come into the campus once a week to submit their completed assignments. There are midterms about every six weeks that must be taken at the school campus. There is also a final exam at the end of the semester for each course taken. The finals must be taken on the school campus. The student is required to attend a science lab on campus for each science course.
  • How can parents/students keep track of their progress?
    Parents and students can keep track of their progress with our weekly emailed progress reports.
  • How are the semesters divided up?
    Faith Academy is on a semester system. There is a Fall and a Spring semester. Each semester consists of approximately 19 weeks. A student may take up to eight courses to earn up to 4 units of credits for each semester. A student may not earn more than four credits in any semester. Faith Academy also offers a six-week summer school program. A student may take up to four courses and earn up to two credits during a summer semester.
  • What documents do I need to bring to enroll as a full time Faith Academy student?
    For grades 9–12, bring:
    • Withdrawal form from previous high school
    • Official transcript
    • Immunization record

    A parent or legal guardian must be present at registration if the student is under 18.

  • What documents do I need to bring to enroll as an Accelerated and/or Summer School student?
    For grades 9–12, bring:
    • Counselor Recommendation Form or transcript
